How I became an F1 fan

I was mindlessly scrolling through YouTube one day, when I came across the 2022 F1 Intro.
I'm a huge fan of intro sequences, I think shows and movies should go back to having actual intros.
That day I was under quarantine because of COVID, so I was looking for anything to watch.

I watched the intro and it was interesting, scrolled through the comments a bit then decided to buy a subscription to watch F1.
I was really lucky since that was the week of the Belgian GP, when F1 returned from the summer break.
I ended up watching through FP1, FP2, Quali, and finally the race. At that point all I knew about F1 was cars go very fast, and Lewis Hamilton was good so I was rooting for him.

Long story short, I was a Mercedes fan, learned about the sport and it's history, watched a bit of DTS(don't worry I only watched up until Season 3), and I got a whole new hobby.

Who do I support?

As mentioned above I'm a Mercedes fan, I watched F1 just after their downfall so I was a bit sad at first. But then again I always get
tired of someone dominating so I'm fine with it. After a while my interest in Hamilton was starting to wane, he was way past his glory days and
let's be real he's not winning another WDC. So I pivoted to George Russell, his teammate, a young, up and coming talent.
Sure he was a bit crash happy in '22 and '23, and his character wasn't always the best, but in 2024 I really started to like him, beating a 7 time WDC (admittedly past his prime) was no small feat.
Now in 2025 I think he's definitely evolved, dragging that Mercedes to the best position he can against those McLarens and being a generally more likeable guy.

Other teams and drivers I support are Williams, Haas, and Alex Albon.
